If I can do it, you can too!
It all begins with an idea.
Starting a business wasn’t something I always planned for. Honestly, it felt impossible at times. I was just a mom trying to find a solution for my son’s skin. He would break out in little bumps from sweat rashes, and no matter what store-bought creams or lotions I tried, nothing helped. In fact, most of them were packed with chemicals that only seemed to make things worse.
One day, I decided to try something different. I researched, experimented, and finally made my own whipped tallow. I’ll never forget the first time I applied it to my son’s skin — by the next day, his rash was gone. Completely gone.
That one simple moment sparked everything.
At first, it was just for my family. But then friends began asking for jars. Then friends of friends. Before I knew it, I was making more than just a kitchen experiment — I was running a business. And let me tell you, it was not easy. I didn’t have investors, a business degree, or a huge budget. I had to figure it out step by step: sourcing, labeling, packaging, pricing, building a website, and somehow finding the courage to share it with the world.
There were plenty of doubts along the way. Times when I wondered if anyone would care, or if I was crazy to even try. But here’s the truth: if I waited to feel “ready,” I would have never started.
The beautiful thing is that passion will carry you through the hard parts. I believed in what I was making because I saw firsthand how it changed my son’s skin. That belief gave me the push to keep going, even when things felt overwhelming.
Now, I get to share my products with others who need them, and I get messages from people telling me how it’s helped their families, too. That makes every late night, every trial-and-error batch, every moment of self-doubt worth it.
So if you’re sitting on a dream, an idea, or even just a “what if”… let me be the one to tell you: go for it. Don’t wait until you think you’re ready. Start messy, learn as you go, and trust that with passion and persistence, you’ll figure it out. The photo is the first time I made a big batch to sell. Look how unorganized it is lol
